 For more than twenty years, "Amazon Clipper Cruises" has been a leader in operating boat cruises in the Amazon River system departing from Manaus. Being the pioneer in Amazon boat cruises gives us a unique knowledge in logistics and knowledge about locations rarely shown to any other visitors. We offer cruises with weekly regular departure with three different itineraries; the "Amazon River Cruise", the "Negro River Cruise" and the "Amazon and Negro River Cruise". Each one is a complete experience to the Amazon, including a visit to the "Meeting of the Waters". You enjoy several side trips into the rain forest by canoe and walking, you will get a good understanding in Amazon ecology and learn about the natives surviving, health and education situations. The cruises are available in two categories of distinctly Amazonian boats. The Traditional Fleet "Amazon Clipper", an Amazon riverboat with traditional lines with basic comfort and facilities, such as air-conditioned cabins with private toilet, covered dining room with bar and library and a 360° view sundeck. Both categories were designed exclusively for cruising on the Amazon River and its tributaries. Using years of experience on other tour boats we made several design innovations to make them as comfortable as possible and still offer a perfect interaction with nature. The shallow draught allows us to visit locations inaccessible to many other boats and the outboard powered canoes that we carry are used for trips in lagoons, narrow channels, creeks and flooded forest.

 For anyone who enjoys the comfort of a luxury boat, the "Amazon Clipper Cruises" offers PREMIUM fleet. With Premium and Otter boats offer the best for boat cruises on the Amazon. In the Premium category, all passengers are hosted in spacious apartments with two beds side by side or one queen size bed, air conditioning and safety deposit box, all feature a spacious bathroom with hot water. An air-conditioned restaurant with a buffet. A complete deck just for fun, a large room for meetings and lectures air-conditioned with TV and DVD, bar, hot tubs and showers to freshen up and relax.  Expedition Cruising is Different
Voyage to the Heart of the Amazon is different from both cruises
and forest lodges. It is an "expedition cruise" which means that
we explore far into the forest. We see creatures that are hidden
to other visitors. Our cruise is the most informative, active,
and authentic trip in the Amazon.
Authentic and Active Program
Our trips go beyond the tourist experience of most trips to
the Amazon. We visit areas that are not visited by other groups.
We see creatures that are almost never seen on other Amazon
trips. The program is also active with several excursions off
the boat every day. Every morning we walk in the forest. But
there is no difficulty for older travelers because when we go
into the forest we divide into small groups each with a private
guide and woodsman.
Small Groups
We accept a maximum of 18 passengers on our cruises. With
this small group, travelers can spend more time with the guides
which makes it a much better experience.
Comfortable Vessel and High Quality Service
The M/Y TUCANO is the most comfortable expeditionary
vessel in the Amazon. All the cabins are outside cabins with
private baths and air-conditioning. The vessel is elegant with
lots of polished brass and highly varnished woodwork. We
have a large crew that keeps the vessel clean and helps travelers
in every way possible to enjoy the trip. |

Boat & Crew Information
Vessels with different convivial spaces, to select groups of travelers. The boat Awapé, 52 feet, preserves all regional style with a good level of comfort for up to 8 passengers on long expeditions. Yet, the boat Jacaré Açú, craft premium of 64 feet, three floors and ample leisure and functional areas for up to 16 people.
* In departures with less than 8 people will be used Awapé vessel, more than that the Jacaré Açú.
Crew - Our guides are an important part of an expedition. More than just knowing the region, they must be helpful, have good humor, and, most of all, must be in sync with the vibe of the group. The Skipper is responsible for the success of the trip in all its aspects. He handles the crew, plans the route, and his chief officer is the boat boatman. The Cook is among the people responsible to make your stay in the boat as pleasant as possible, and his chief officer is the cleaning lady. Know our crew.

Low Impact Tourism
To know and get the spirit of the true Amazon Rainforest, you got to go by boat. When you disembark in an isolated community, in a sanctuary of parrots and macaws, in a desert beach with gull nests, turtle eggs, or get in a canoe in a creek, you must keep your impact to a minimum. For that reason, Katerre operates only with small groups in boats with low fossil pollutant emission, low noise level, and organic trash disposal. Your Wellbeing First
Remote river expeditions require experience and know-how to make sure nothing goes wrong. All passengers are covered by individual travel insurance policies. Our guides are trained in first-aid and able to use anesthetics and suturing. Check out our pharmacy. The boat is fumigated prior to every expedition, and it can be equipped with satellite phone for emergencies. Not to mention the familiarity we have with the places, communities, and people we visit.
